Upper Elementary/Middle School Teacher
The mission of O.M.S. is to provide a safe, nurturing, creative learning environment for the whole person. We are dedicated to total quality education for peace from early childhood through adulthood. The school is located on 5.5 serene acres in Hammond, Louisiana, known as the Crossroads of the South. The non-public setting is conducive to study, and provides a relaxing environment to expand one's knowledge, freedom, creativity, and opportunities for leadership in the Montessori community.
We are seeking an Upper Elementary/Middle School guide for our class 9-14 years who is:
• Team oriented
• Well organized
• Possesses strong computer skills
• Energetic, passionate, and experienced
• Strong intrapersonal and interpersonal communication skills
• Able to implement Montessori principles and practices within a multi-age grouping
• Able to differentiate learning to accommodate a variety of learners
• Skilled in preparation of the environment, lesson plans, assessments, and parent education
Required Qualifications:
• (Minimum) Bachelor's degree
• Montessori certification and/or experience
• (Adult learner actively engaged in an approved credential program may be considered)

Position available for a Montessori Teacher at the Early Childhood (Primary) level for the 2024 – 2025 school year at Messiah Montessori School in Houma, Louisiana. Messiah is an established, fully accredited Pre-School ~ High School located 60 miles southwest of New Orleans, Louisiana. For more information, see school website at www.mms-edu.com.
Applicants must be certified, enrolled or willing to enroll in a Montessori training at the Primary level through a MACTE accredited program.
A Bachelor degree is required.
