Steps for Initial

Membership

and Approval

LMA membership is open to any nonpublic Montessori school in Louisiana, although most of our members are schools seeking accreditation from the Louisiana Department of Education.

We are here to provide community, accountability, and guidance in the state approval process in Louisiana.

1.

APPLY

Submit the Initial Application Form,

along with the application fee of $500.00.

2.

PREPARE & ASSESS

Review the documentation and materials checklists HERE to ensure compliance with LMA requirements.

3.

SITE VISIT

Send an email to lma@network.net to request your initial site visit. See guidelines HERE.

4.

ELIGIBILITY IS DETERMINED:

  • If your school meets requirements at the time of your initial site visit, you are eligible to begin the process of Annual School Reporting to achieve LMA approval.

  • If your school does not meet requirements at the time of its initial visit, LMA makes recommendations for correcting deficiencies. You may request a follow-up site visit once standards have been met.

5.

ANNUAL REPORTING

Member schools submit Annual School Reports in the fall of each year. It is through these reports that a school achieves LMA Approval and LDOE Accreditation, if applicable, on an annual basis. Click HERE for details on this process.

6.

DUES

Membership dues are paid annually in the spring. Dues are determined by school enrollment. Click HERE for more information.
